Now With Sleepers

I've spent the last couple of days slowly adding the sleepers to the rails so I can see how the section over the bridge will look. The sleepers in the undergrowth can wait until later.

It's not a perfect replica, when compared to Bobby Mhor's photo, but I'm pretty happy with how that looks.

  1. Nice work. The colouring looks to be spot on. I look forward to seeing grass sprout between the rails!

    1. Rock painting next before I get to the grass, especially as I still haven't entirely worked out how I'm going to do the vegetation.

  2. That is bizarre. To be honest I wasn't convinced that the evenness of colour on the sleepers in the model was quite as realistic as the photo on the right. However when I clicked on the photo on the right I didn't get an enlarged photo but a different blog!

    1. Ah I now see what happened. The photo was from the other blog. I should have looked further before I wrote the comment.

    2. Yes having never been to the railway myself I've been relying on other peoples photos so a link back seems the right thing to do. The sleepers probably need a little more weathering as the scene comes together to remove some of the sameness, but I'l probably do that last to tie everything together.

    1. Bobby, I'm guessing from that you aren't happy that I used it, sorry. I should probably have asked (although I couldn't find an e-mail anywhere), and made the link back to your blog more obvious. Would you like me to add a more obvious text link, or remove the photo altogether? The last thing I intended was to annoy or upset any one.

      Mark,

      Please feel free.
As you are railway orientated, some of the blog post may have some interest for your readers, it is part of the remains of a narrow gauge railway built to carry shooters on to a nearby grouse moor.
Just Google 'Duchal Grouse Railway'...for more information
