Today's Post

The post has just arrived which included a very interesting box of bits for the new layout:

I'll go into more detail as I put each thing together but there is the wonderful little diesel loco from Narrow Planet, a workman's coach from Meridian Models, and a set of Greenwich Couplings and associated uncoupling magnets etc. all ordered from Parkside Dundas. It's a real shame that due to work meetings I'm not going to get any modelling done for about a week.

  1. Mark take a sicky. I bet a pound to a shilling the better half has a note or two spare.

    1. On this occasion I don't mind the work meeting too much, as it involves some interesting travel. it might even lead to a few blog posts, although probably not railway related ones.

  2. I rather fancy the Bagulay myself, I like Narrow Planet's approach using a 3D printed body with etched overlays (nothing looks more like sheet metal than sheet metal) etc. A much better approach to 3D printing than most take.

    1. I think the approach of using sheet metal with the 3D body is definitely the way to go. If you want to model wooden bodied wagons then the 3D printing works reasonable well, but it can't handle the smooth sides over a large enough area to model metal well enough (or certainly not at a reasonable price). Hopefully I'll do the kit justice when I get to put it together.
