Having introduced the idea of building a 16mm scale version of the 24hp Hudson Hunslet in the previous post, I've now done a small amount more work. Specifically I've managed to print a chassis that will hold the wheels and motor.... although due to a slight design flaw it won't fit on the track yet! Rather than lots of text explaining things, and because no one complained about the last video post I did, here is the current state of play
It is big, but try 7/8ths! I would suggest this would work best as I’ve done in 7/8ths, multi media.
ReplyDeleteI did offer these as a model a few years ago and had all of one order, so never progressed.
I forgot you'd had a go at this one before. Strange that you didn't get more than one order given they seem to be a popular loco. There will be some different media, as I'm certainly thinking sheet metal for the side panels and the sheet over the controls; plus that grill has to be done with real mesh as the printed version is horrible.
DeleteAs for 7/8ths I'm still struggling with how big things are in 16mm!
